Email scam alert

The Office of State Revenue (OSR), including the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER), is urging people to show caution when responding to emails regarding penalty infringement notices.

An email scam has been identified involving attempts to solicit bank details by requesting people to open an attachment.

In all SPER correspondence, you will be directed to SPER’s website at www.sper.qld.gov.au or to call SPER on 1300 365 635 (overseas +61 7 3405 0985).

If you think you may have received a message from a questionable source, do not reply to it or open links or files within the message.

If you believe you have provided bank account details to a scammer, contact your financial institution immediately.
